Sometimes a healthy dose of frustration with the status quo pushes one to make the changes needed.
After three years working on a cervical cancer screening program in India, Kathy Vizas realized that there wasn’t enough awareness of the disease and funding was severely lacking. While her program screened thousands of women and saved many lives, screening programs weren’t catching on.
She took matters into her own hands. Now as the Co-Founder and Board Chair of TogetHER, she works with implementers, funders and organizations to end cervical cancer. TogetHER advocates for cervical cancer to donors and governments around the world.
