THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME (FOR RECEIVING HEALTHCARE)
IMPATIENT OPTIMISTS
BY STASIA OBREMSKEY, MAVERICK COLLECTIVE MEMBER
Stasia Obremskey shares her experience, on the Impatient Optimist blog, in Mozambique where women can receive Sayana Press right in their living room, powered by community health workers and an SMS network.
If women around the world were able to decide for themselves when and whether they would have a child, we know that we would see a great deal of change in many areas, but most importantly in drastically reducing child and maternal mortality rates.
Saying Press is a highly promising new contraceptive that can be easily administered that gives three-months of contraceptive protection. In Mozambique, Maverick Collective member Stasia Obremskey is working with PSI to pilot an innovative approach to distribute and administer Sayana Press through local community health workers.
Here is Stasia’s account on PSI’s Impact Blog of her recent visit to Mozambique.
